Nice little side park along the Tacoma waterfront...

Nice place to have a quiet and peaceful walk. Very little foot traffic, a tad tricky to get to if unfamiliar to the area.

You see the pergola all the time driving off 705 into Old Town. Just a quick detour, and the parking is hardly ever full, this is a great place to chill and take in the scenes, have a picnic while watching barges trot along by. There is also a small beach to chill out at.

Having driven past the park several times, we found the entrance and stopped to investigate as the park looked very serene. It was a pleasant walk and offered great educational opportunities to enlighten all to the struggles endured by the Chinese who came seeking a better life. Very tranquil.

This is a truly unique park. It has a simple beauty of parks I saw in China, not to mention a wonderful view. It conveyed a shameful piece of Tacoma history yet left me with a serene feeling. I left with a positive impression of Tacoma and I thought how many other cities could use a reconciliation park to make... More

Thank you Tacoma for placing this monument next to the Puget Sound and providing plenty of opportunities to enjoy the view as well as honor the contributions of the Asian community to this region. We regret that there were severe misunderstandings amongst the cultures during the 200+ years of recent civilizations. This place embodies the serenity of seeking peaceful solutions... More

I came here as a part of Freedom Fair in Tacoma on July 4th. I liked walking to the park, but there wasn't much to do there, but it is interesting to see the different Chinese things there. Overall, fun, I like walking on Ruston Way, so of course I will be back!

I took my granddaughter here on the 4th of July. Quiet and peace amidst the chaos that is the waterfront on this holiday. I went again today with a friend for quiet talk. The water, the mountains...Tacoma at its best! And it's free... A walk around the little park tells the story of the Chinese (and their expulsion) in Tacoma--an... More

Tacoma's Chinese Reconciliation Park is a beautiful anchor point to begin your journey along Tacoma's waterfront District. Its a wonderful place to spend some time walking your dog, having a picnic lunch or sitting on one of its numerous benches reading a good book. The views are spectacular from the harbor to the Olympics. Whether you go to watch the... More
