60+ miles--and a solid hour and a half by car--northeast of Spokane. Probably should be listed as an attraction for Newport, WA, which is a few short miles from the lake. A wonderful hiking trail along parts of Bead Lake, a deep clear water lake created by a glacial moraine. It is somewhat handicap friendly but not for wheel chairs and those that might need a major assist from walking supports. It is easy to moderate difficulty in my opinion.

Great ride, close to town. lots of free parking. Many inexpensive hotels in area, we stayed at the Holiday Express Inn in Spokane Valley. Had a great stay and would return.

WOW, visited Bead this last summer after 40 years. The road is paved now, the rustic cabins are more formal, the boat launch very developed and nice. Bead was my friend family summer hide away and I was delighted to go. Yes, it well worth the visit.
