Beautiful building; we took the tour as a work group and were impressed with the architecture, history and with the knowledgeable tour guide and his interesting pieces of trivia. The price tag (free) was also awesome!

The Capitol building is beautiful do not miss a visit if you are in the area. We didn't do a guided tour because the timing didn't wasn't right for us. We still enjoyed wondering through the halls and looking in the different rooms, all employees we encountered were very helpful and chatty.

We stopped in Olympia on our way back to Seattle and stopped by the Capitol. The buildings are so beautiful and free for everyone to enter. There are tours which don't cost anything. If you love history and architecture be sure to stop here.

The Capitol grounds are beautiful and a must see when in town. The Legislative Building is beautiful and free to get in. There are a lot of stairs up to the building but, once inside, you can take an elevator. I recommend you take the guided tour in the Legislative Building. You can do a self-guided but the guided gives... More

Awesome buildings dating back many many decades (sorry didn't do any research on the capital, just drove around). No traffic, no parking issues, many pictures taken on a rainy day.

This building is very nice. I didn't learn much about Washington's history, but I did enjoy being able to walk around the building and take pictures. The gift shop was lovely and the ladies didn't seem to mind that we were shopping close to their closing time.

Washington State's capitol building has to be the most beautiful capitol building in the country. I seriously doubt that a building like it could be built today anywhere in the country. It is a visual splendor of superb architecture, marble, Tiffany chandeliers, and old-world craftsmanship. And our tour guide did justice to this magnificent building.

I was just kind of wandering around Olympia, when I decided to head up to the Capital for old times sake. I had graduated from the old Olympia High School when it was still across the street and my Dad had been the minister of the United Churches. Going thru those huge doors and up the stairs was a funny... More
