Liked the "non-touristy" beach town

Nice to wander - lovely beach boardwalk and fantastic restaurants not found in other Oregon/Washington beach towns.

There are so many wonderful things about the Long Beach area. Lots of historical sites, state parks, lighthouses, and a wonderful, wide, long beach. The towns are quaint with lots of things to see and do, with many good restaurants and hotels. We love going to Marsh's to see Jake the Alligator Man and all the other weird stuff they... More

Cape Disappointment is a must. Lewis and Clark were here. Take a walk on Waikiki Beach, and one of the longest beaches in the world, you can drive on it also. Decent places to eat, and shop, short drive North to see the charming town of Oysterville with literally mountains of piled up oyster shells from Willapa Bay. A short... More

If you want a hip beach party town, Long Beach is not your ticket. But if you are looking for a nice, laid-back coast experience, it's just where you want to be. We rented a nice cottage at a quite reasonable price, and fond the local restaurants, while limited in number and fare, to be quite good. There are lot... More

When you come to Long Beach whether you leave satisfied or disappointed clearly depends on what you are looking for from a beach experience as I discovered for myself today. As an experienced beachcomber I am looking for a beach that I can walk along easily with hard packed sand the closer you get to the water. I am also... More

We chose Long Beach as our home base to explore the peninsula- it has all kinds of restaurants and interesting shops to stroll around, and there is always some festival going on- rod run, kite festival, cranberrian festival- these are just some of what's going on in the last two weeks! There is something for everyone here!

And you can drive your car on the beach. They have a helpful kite shop and great winds for flying kites. I think I will be going back to purchase a MONKEY kite. I love saying -> not my circus, not my flying monkeys. -I just may buy the monkey kite, so it IS my flying monkey! The go cart... More

This beach has beautiful, fine sand and is comparatively, very clean. Vehicles are able to drive on the beach and other than one fool, people were very respectful. A great spot to see the sunset.

This is a gorgeous beach - stretches on for miles, deep sandy frontages, crashing surf, perfect wind for flying kites. Sounds perfect for long contemplative walks - if only they didn't allow vehicles to drive on it and horses to poop on it. Really - whatever laws or regulations that allow this beautiful beach to be so desecrated should be... More

Long Beach should be a quiet and serene place. Instead, it is infested with immature men and their trucks driving on the beach and revving their engines. There is the occasional meat-head who takes a two wheel drive vehicle onto the sand, only to get stuck. If that weren't enough, there are numerous horses on the beach, doing what horses... More
