Have been visiting Leavenworth every winter for last three years but this time around it was disappointing. They have discontinued my favorite cheese (Blac Diamond Collection cheddar) and kept trying to push gouda cheese on me as they really did not have much in the cheddar seleciton. Staff was super friendly as always though.

Walked in out of curiosity and walked out with a couple of different cheeses. Slightly aggressive (yet not pushy) employees continuously offer samples from behind the counter, coupled with explanations and comparisons. Ultimately found a couple of unique cheeses we liked enough to buy.

My husband and I visited here in June 2016 and we got 3 different kinds of cheeses and a salami, they offer free samples but they tend to get very busy. The shop also offers a small selection of beers and snacks.

This shop is so small that two people can not traverse the stairs if someone is coming up or going down. I found the prices to be a little high but they are higher end cheeses. The Landjäger is a excellent price $1.50 ea.

Looking for something to have with wine and friends that night. No better answer than cheese so down the stairs we went. A good variety of cheese for the area. They were serving samples of a black pepper cheddar that was superberb. We also purchased a cumin cheddar that had good flavor but dried out too quickly. Being a Bavarian... More

Considering the size of the shop... yeah ya know it actually did have a really small selection.... beer and other alcohols took over most of the shop. There was sampling but I either did not hear the employee or I was not told what it was I was trying. Cool single serve beer choices though.

My husband brought my parents and me to this shop down a narrow staircase to a lower level that opens up into a deli shop. The shop was described to me what sounded like the scene from a horror flick, of 'going down a narrow staircase to a basement where they want you to taste their meats & cheeses' turned... More

Nice little shop filled with a great variety of cheese and sausages. Very friendly staff, and lots of samples to choose from, well priced too.

Found The Cheesemongers Shop downstairs and anticipated at least a large selection of cheese. I was extremely disappointed. The selection of cheese is quite small. Many of the items on the shelving (mustards, etc.) are available in my local super market. Lots of beer. Several employees were in view, but basically standing around. Was offered one sample with no courtesy.... More

The girls were having there share of shopping so that when I saw this shop I knew we had to stop. The samples flowed the minute we walked in. Mustard seed cheddar, truffle Gouda, smoked Gouda, and apple smoked cheddar all ended up in our shopping bag. On hindsight we should have bought the dill Havarti too! They cheeses were... More
