We made the long lonely drive to Neah Bay to hike the short Cape Flattery trail which is on Makah property - beautiful views there. Easy to purchase $10 reservation permit at the marina. As we came into town we realized they were having a...More

I very much enjoyed my visit to the Makah Indian Reservation. It was a long day trip to arrive from Port Townsend, but very lovely water views. I liked the postings as I entered advising of regulations.

The Makah reservation is up by Neah Bay and includes Shi Shi beach. Some beautiful beaches and nice views across the Straits but not in Forks! See Shi Shi beach. There is also a very very good museum of Makah artifacts in Neah Bay.

Great stop. We enjoyed this corner of WA. Long twisty drive to get here as it is out of the way but so worth the trip. Don't miss the museum. These are kind people and deserve our respect. Glad we went there.

Hiked the Cape Flattery Trail near Neah Bay. Well maintained, fairly steep, rewarded with Pacific Ocean views and rocky cliffs.. Also stopped for a cappuccino milkshake at the local coffee truck, which was excellent!
