I seldom write a negative review, but I wanted to warn people about this destination. I love hiking and especially if there is a beautiful destination in mind. This has to be one of the most miserable hikes that I have ever been on. I...More

Thank you to all other reviews! We chose this muddy but beautiful 4 mile hike over other trails with lots of roots and elevation. We enjoyed the well maintained paths and wood bridges and boardwalks but take a walking stick. When you arrive to the...More

The trail from the lot to the beach is about two miles one way and Very Muddy. There’s a fairly steep climb down to the beach. I understand there used to be ropes to help hikers, but they’re now in the process of installing stairs/railings....More

We bought our pass for the Makah Indian Reservation at the Washburn General Store. An annual pass for $10. Shi Shi is pronounced like shy shy. The parking area was fairly full. There was a toilet available. We hiked 2 miles through the woods and...More

Instead of the cold, gray and dreary beach that I had imagined, this ended up being one of the best beaches I've ever been to. When I visited the sky was clear and the cool air, which I'd thought be a hindrance, was actually really...More

We did the day hike to Shi Shi beach. The hike is easy until you get to the spot to get down to the beach. There are ropes to help you navigate down the trail. It's a short descent and doable for most people. The...More

I've now been to this beach 5 times because I love it there! A level but muddy 2-mile hike to the descent to the beach, then 2.5 miles of sandy beach with beautiful seastacks with arches and caves in them on either end. Lots more...More

We entered via the Lake Ozette loop and headed north for mikes along the beach. The sights at low tide were amazing. So worth the trip.

Shi Shi beach is a great intermediate hike down to the rugged Washington coast. We loved being able to camp directly on the beach. The beach has dramatic rock formations at the end of the beach and at low tide these rocks have great tide...More

The last leg of the hike is going down from a high clift to the beach and ofcourse back....but the rock formation, tide pools are fantastic, wear hiking sandles to make it easier to walk on the hot sand and rocks.

No, you cannot drive all the way to the beach. It's a hiking trail and you'll either have to park at the trail head (day trip), or at a private trailer (overnight).
