Going south on Chuckanut is the only way to enjoy it, as the Sound is west of the road and it is not easily possible to turn into the waysides if you are driving north. There are cyclists so beware.

Wonderful drive. Farm valleys, to lush coastal forests. Be aware: some of the cool stops in Skagit closed some days, and trails to bat caves sneak up on you, just look for other cars in turnouts.

One of my favorite drives ever. There are a few pull off areas to admire the beautiful scenery. This place definitely is an embodiment of the Pacific Northwest.

Take a leisurely drive on Chuckanut Drive for the views. This is a windie road above the bay. Taking the road from I-5 Burlington, will take you from the flats and up the hill. You will end up in Fairhaven, the south side of Bellingham....More
