Tucked away at the end of Dawson's Beach Road is a little gem for a birder. About two miles or so across, the place is not large, but it boasts Bald Eagle nesting pairs most years...Ospreys are often around as well. If you take the...More

This Park is great! It is a hidden gem. Not much traffic. Easy walking trails. What I liked the best, was seeing a pair of Eagles, working on their nest. This was by the covered Picnic tables, by the river. Summer time has a batting...More

We stopped in looking to stretch our legs after eating and kill some time. If you are a bird watcher this place is paradise, and we saw what looked to be several serious bird watchers. If you want a quiet place to take a stroll,...More

Occoquan Bay National Wildlife Refuge has lots of long nature trails and a fishing pond, but not much else. I'd avoid this park during May-September due to the biting black flies.
