So VA had so much rain in the last few weeks that the falls are pouring water over the side. It's was stunning to see the power of water cascading for probably 800 feet straight down a mountain. The trails are in poorer than average...More

Oh my! These falls are fantastic! I just love the power of water falling through the mountains and rushing across the rocks! The road to reach the trail head is a bit windy, but worth it! The lower falls have handicap access, but the rest...More

The falls are absolutely beautiful, but the trails were very poor. Only an experienced hiker should take the hike. Trails were not cleared of rocks and exposed tree roots, making it hard to navigate.

Take the winding mountain road to Crabtree Falls (be careful if you get carsick!). Park in the upper lot and follow the trail 2 miles to the very top. It's a bunch of switchbacks and straight up, so you'll earn the views at the top....More

A well maintained climb with lots of stairs. Fantastic after a lot of rainfall! Although this is a popular hike and the lots may be full, there is plenty of solitude.

Went to the top of the middle fall - total 2 miles back/forth. Trail in good condition, stairs in many areas - but excellent lookouts and views of the fall. Amazing.

It is a fine mountain highway. That being said, we are not mountain people, and took it from the top down- it is a little nerve-wracking but should be fine for any normal vehicle. The pavement is in good condition, just... More
