This museum is located in the walking mall downtown. I actually stumbled upon it and am so glad I did. There are thousands of Civil War artifacts. The nice gift shop has lots of books about local and Civil War history.

Chock full of history. Amazing collection and display of local artifacts from Civil War. I was most taken with the preservation efforts of the original jailhouse graffiti left by prisoners who were housed here during the civil war.

On the south end of an open pedestrian mall, my Scottish in-laws, my twenty-three year old sister and I walked into this place expecting a little look around. Well worth a couple dollars to have the full experience of sitting in the courthouse and listening...More
