An absolutely stunning collection of Americana that few museums can lay claim to. Everything is wonderfully described and labeled so you can truly see the progression of the crafts over time. Highly recommend.

The museum was an afterthought for us as we toured Williamsburg. However, the museum ended up being a real highlight of our trip to Williamsburg.

I personally love wandering through art displays such as this one ... but my husband and kids not so much. If you have to choose what to see and do this could go last on your list.

Wonderful collection of many different items from early America. If you collection anything, you will find it here. Musical instruments, silver items, early American painting, tea sets, and colonial guns.

If you enjoy looking at folk art Abby Rockefeller' collection is beautifully presented exhibit. It has plenty to see but is not exhausting like some art museums. It is well worth an hour or more while visiting Colonial Williamsburg.

We enjoyed visiting the old mental hospital, and were pleasantly surprised at the many collections in the museum... from beautiful antiques to musical instruments, dollhouses, German toys, and early American art.
