Located between the historic 'Colonial Williamsburg' and the College of William & Mary, the Square is a great place to spend a few hours. There are plenty of shops, both nationally known and those of a local flavor, places to eat, and benches on which to sit and relax. Go on a nice sunny day and enjoy!

This is a beautiful square in the heart of Williamsburg. All types of shops with something to please everyone. Make sure you go to the Cheese Shop and get a sampler plate- they will wrap it up to go. There is an information center with bathrooms. Lots of public parking. Strollers can enter the stores from the back entrances. Everyone... More

The last time I was in Williamsburg was during a very cold wintery weekend to historic James Town. My memory of this location was dark, cold and our restaurant experience was not the greatest. Fast forward 5 years later. I was initially reluctant to make a stop from North Carolina, but since I went through Virginia Beach, might as well... More

This is the hopping place to go shopping in downtown Williamsburg. I met up with my friend and his family here and we had a great time walking around, shopping and having a light dinner. There is short term and long term parking all around the area with the long term costing a dollar an hour.

This is a great place to walk and enjoy the surrounding area. Especially nice when the weather is warmer and the sun is out. Plenty to see around the square and restaurants are nearby that cater to all.

There are only 6 handicap parking spots in the area. Two were occupied by "jacked up" pick up trucks. Merchant Square's accessibility for mobility impaired individuals is poor.

Lots of shops to go thru. Liked the Christmas store and General Store. Staff was very friendly. Its near college so plenty of coffee shops and husle and busle of polite college kids. As well as families. We spent about two hours there. We ate at Dog street Pub. It was okay not the best food I've had.

The square is located between William and Mary College and Colonial Williamsburg. You'll find lots of shops...some quite pricy...and places to dine or snack. It's a great place to walk and browse, enjoy the nice weather. There's also a trolley you can catch if needed.

Doesn't every popular tourist attraction have a shopping area? This is the one that is located adjacent to the historical district. Nearly 3 dozen shops and restaurants to choose from in this unique village-type setting. Some shops have very unique merchandise, where others can be found in most metropolitan shopping malls. Many merchants offer coupon savings!
