We took the 2-3 mile Taskinas Creek Trail that meandered around and up and down through a beautiful woodland with lookouts along the way out onto the grassy wetlands. A good family small adventure.

My family and I have been here many times and seems to discover something new each time. The first time we came we took part in a very informative class about fossils and the local landscape. Then we followed the Ranger down to Fossil Beach to search for fossils from "yesteryear". You are guaranteed to find something each time as... More

When the temperature jumps to 70 in February there is no great place to be than York River State Park. Spend time walking and driving thru the park and enjoy the sun and warm.

There were look-out areas from which you could look out at the marsh land that was between the trail and the actual river. The trail was cleared... More

Bring your horse and go for a ride. Or canoe or kiyak. Or just go for a walk. Fossil beach is interesting. Look for eagles. There is plenty to see and do next to the beautiful York River

York River State Park is a very serene setting whether you just enjoy the views of the trails and beaches or delight in jogging or walking along the paths provided. Several very good casual dining places nearby, along with some quaint shops.

Great hiking trails for groups or just walking the dog. Excellent views of the York River and the nature surrounding it. Guided tours are excellent and explore the Fallen Tree that is about 200 years old.

Great stories told by the rangers. Very historical, romantic and well documented. Lots to see and a bit of a hike but not in elevation so all doable.
