The Governor's Palace provided a beautiful venue for our attendance at a night concert of holiday chamber music. I highly recommend it!

When you visit the Governor's Palace, do make sure you do the guided tour. We had a very good guide, a gentleman that genuinely enjoyed what he was doing. Beside an interesting tour, the grounds are gorgeous.

I too have not heard of a private tour but encourage you to ask. I would think there are others who'd appreciate this service.
