Really enjoyed the floor plan. Not a huge site, but the items that are on display are very interesting and include various types of art, sculptures and freelance artists contributions. The Dale Chihuly piece alone is worth the price of admission. An accompanying video shows you some of the different techniques that he uses to create various pieces of his... More

I came to see the High Fructose show with a group of educators in November. The education program team was excellent in preparing activities for us for the very short time we were there. We were given some wonderful resource packets with a very generous family ticket pack to come back. Later that night I went back to see Wayne... More

This facility did not exist when we last visited VA Beach but it has now become a valued community resource. We were lucky to see an exhibit of contemporary art assembled by Hi Fructose Magazine. The featured works were stunning and blew us away. The talent on view was the best in the world. In a side gallery we saw... More

visited by myself one chilly day. Why had I not come before? This place is great. The staff is so friendly and the exhibits are amazing. I am not usually a fan of modern art, but this is contemporary - not necessarily "modern". The Hi Fructose exhibit is wonderful. Cool stuff well done - so innovative. The film loops throughout... On a cloudy drizzy dreary beach day, we decided to check out MOCA since it was within walking distance from the beach area. The museum is large enough to provide the visitor with select examples of different contemporary art that is not overwhelming and can be appreciated on a 1.5-2 hour visit as we did. The HI Fructose Exhibit was... More

I was able to walk here from my boardwalk hotel and it is in a very pretty location. The staff was pleasant, the building is beautiful- just very peaceful and sets a lovely mood. Their current exhibit was very thought-provoking- I really appreciate the postings by each piece talking about the artist, their background and their process. Really enjoyed my... More

Small exhibition but well worth the visit - lovely staff and was a great respite from the heat. The space is well planned and the glass exhibits are lovely

After reading reviews was disappointed. Art is mostly dark and somewhat depressing by clearly talented artists with creativity but little inspiration. Film loop was interesting and worth seeing. Overall, not somewhere we'll return by ourselves or with guests.

Went here because it seemed like a good place to spend the hit afternoon in and I wanted to see their Dale Chihuly glass sculpture otherwise I wasn't expecting much, but was pleasantly surprised by the unique art presented. Theatre showed interviews with the artists presented which gave a nice perspective on their approach to their art.

I'm not usually a Contemporary art fan but the selection here is great. The glass sculptures alone are worth the trip. And just off the beach it makes for a great trip indoors on that unexpected rainy day during a beach vacation.
