We went with friends who live in the area and received discounted admission as their guests. It was very busy because of the weather but the kids were entertained for 2 1/2 - 3 hrs. We walked to the other building to see the otters...More

We did the dolphin sight seeing tour on our last day in VA. It was AMAZING! The aquarium was ok - didn't think it was worth the admission. I say this, I guess, because we have the Boston and Mystic Aquarium so close.

We visited the Virginia Aquarium on a Saturday afternoon in late July, despite the fact that we knew it was probably the most crowded time, to escape the 100-degree heat that day. We've been to several other aquariums on the east coast (two different Ripley's...More

It is a very nice aquarium. Very fun, clean, interactive. We pet sting ray, watched a movie, did all the little exhibits. Go outside on the boardwalk and check out the crabs! The best part was the dolphin cruise. It was sooooooo much fun. We...More

This place is amazing! Biggest turtles I have ever seen in captivity! Very clean, very large areas to walk in to prevent congestion, wide variety of aquatic and land life to view. Well worth the visit! They even have a variety of outdoor activities.

We went on a Wednesday... it was crowded... but I would agree, staff handle it well. I think there were a couple buses there from camps and what not. I would bet that Sundays are less crowded.

There is a parking lot adjacent to the Virginia Aquarium, and an additional lot just across the street. Parking is free.
