Chicks Beach is great for eating at one of the local restaurants and walking out to the beach for the sunset.

This is a local beach, not touristy. This beach is beautiful and very serene and you can see the Chesapeake bridge. Wish we had more time here. Definitely come back next time we are in this part of Virginia.

I have always like Chicks Beach since the 70s it doesn't have a rush feel like the Virginia Beach area. Romantic walks on the beach will make everyone happy.

nice, close low-key beach away from the VB crowds. closer to the norfolk/VB lines. have lunch at Chick's Oyster Bar and head over to the nearby beach.

Not as crowded as oceanfront. Gentle surf and nice bay views. Parking can be a challenge, especially on long weekends.

Chicks Beach is a local's spot. it is not crowded when compared to VA Beach. The Chesapeake Bay provides great views and calmer waters than the Atlantic Ocean...IMHO. it is a nice beach to walk on and then enjoy a drink or meal at one...More

I truly have no idea, I didn't see any signs posted. Which they have up about dog leashes.
