We took our bikes here and biked through the trails and then afterward changed into swimwear to enjoy the beach. It is awesome as there's almost no waves to overwhelm young children

We drove into the park from 64th street and parked in the second car park to join an 8 mile trail. The terrain was great and we saw birds, fish, crabs and super countryside. It was rather hot and often little shade but Wewill go...More

Bike trail is awesome for riding and walking dogs/pets. Boat ramp at 64th St is great with a small beach area.

Tent camped with no water or electric 2 nights. Nice bathrooms and showers. It was hot and there were lots and lots of bugs, so trying to not let this negatively impact my review. Lather on bug spray.....we were bit up even with spray and...More

Really multiple parks in one. Camping sites with a beach on the Chesapeake and hiking trails through woods, over dunes, and along water. Lots of wild birds to spot along the way. Another area has a boat launch and beach on Broad Bay. If you...More

Great time very scenic and a great place to ride bikes and walk. By the water so you can swim as well.

The beach is more family friendly and relaxing compared to Virginia Beach right down the road. It is also pet friendly. Lots of sea grass floating around and little crabs everywhere (the crabs were fun to watch). Across the way, the trails are very well...More

At first look, this park is very nice and clean. The visitor's center was lovely and the check-in process easy with helpful service. We tent camp, so I opted for a non-specific site reservation, which means you choose your spot when you arrive. I was...More

The park has many bike and hiking trails. It was the Fourth of July weekend and we had no issues with crowds. 10 minutes from the boardwalk and they even have bus service to the park. Camping is also available and looks like a nice...More

This is a fascinating Park. Both hikers and cyclists. Think hikers get more out of it. A swamp forest reminiscent of Jurassic Park. You can hike 3-4 hours here. Really exciting. Cyclists can go through and back but edge out to the end of the...More

The parking lot (for non towing vehicles) is within sight of the beach. If you park right at the beginning of the walkway to the beach, it's about 15 feet from closest parking spot on a sand path to the beach and another 20... More

Just a note about dogs: Between Memorial Day and Labor Day they can only be on the beach before 10 a.m. and after 6 p.m. and have to be on a leash. The leash part is pretty lax as long as they are under control.

It appears that renovations were done to the bathhouses over the winter and some new ones were added. Laundry area is in good working order and is very well kept.
