The Lee family's ancestral home is a must see for history buffs and educators. The house tour is very informative. The site on the Potomac river is awesome. The farm, the grist mill and the dining hall are all worth the trip.

Each September, Stratford Hall hosts a Virginia Wine and Oyster Festival...my wife, our 2 dogs, and I visited Stratford Hall for the first time for this festival...the grounds are beautiful...lots of wineries offered tastings...most were very crowded and the tastings were an ounce or less...many...More

Had reservations at Belle Grove Plantation, with 4PM as the earliest we could check in. So they recommended we visit Stratford Hall since we would have time. Sure glad they did. The Foundation has done a great job on restoration (it is continuing). Tour price...More
