Cool Museum is You are in Roanoke

Their general galleries are free and worth while to see. I went in when the special exhibits were free too. If are in town for a bit or passing through, check it out.

For the third time this year I went to the Taubman and I realize how fortunate we are to have this caliber museum in our region. The staff is very helpful and knowledgeable. The exhibits are first rate and the Muesem is a piece of art in and of itself. While we made a donation, there was no charge. if... More

I was surprised to find this awesome architecture and these art exhibits in Roanoke, VA. We spent a wonderful morning at the museum that included a visit to the exploration area for the kids, and walks around the galleries for the adults. I was particularly impressed by the outdoor observation deck that the museum has just opened on the 3rd... More

I've been through the museum several times as part of the Roanoke Food Tour. The history they impart during the visit is a great background for the architectural details of the building as well as some of the views. The museum has interesting displays, and some great exhibits as well. I really enjoyed the Norman Rockwell exhibit this past spring.

The Taubman has a wide selection of art. On my last visit we viewed folk art, fantasy shoes, and a exhibition of hair art. It was so much fun.

Stunning architecture anchors downtown area. Collection - especially the American arts - is not to be missed. Special exhibits are well curated. Afternoon touring exhibition of artistic luminaries from the local region was well spent.

Nothing worthwhile to see inside, except building's architecture is great. Parking inadequate and building doesn't really fit into surrounding area.

The museum space is very pleasant- open and light. This was my first visit. There was a 100 year celebration exhibit for Harold Finster, a primitive artist living in Georgia. Worth the visit.

We are privileged to have such a top-rate art museum in our small city, Thanks to the Taubman Family, The Fralin Family and many other enthusiastic citizens, this museum was designed especially for us by the late Randall Stout, who had worked with Frank Gehry on other designs. Randall, after visiting this "Railroad Town" and talking to local residents, incorporated... More
