A unique building housing a varied collection of art. The standard collection is very interesting with a variety of art. The rotating collections can be hit or miss so need to do research. The best thing though is walking through and around the building.

We were drawn in by current special exhibition Play: Toys Re-imagined as Art from a recent mailer, inspiring us to even reactivate our family membership to the museum. We guessed we'd require repeat visits to Play with our kids, ages 8 and 4, and that...More

The museum is housed in a striking building, reminding one of Gehry's architecture (but not by him). Inside are very good museum spaces filled wth modern/contemporary art, mostly in special temporary exhibits. The museum has free admission, only charges for one special exhibition. We saw...More

This is a nice museum. Only 1 floor but with beautiful work. I really like dropping in since it is totally FREE. The collection is nice, but the exhibits rotate all the time and bring in interesting work.

This was my second visit to this museum. I was there in June and I was equally impressed with the exhibits as I was then. It is a beautiful facility and FREE!!! But please give a donation:-)

The museum itself, is a gorgeous modern building, and I would recommend visiting just to see the large glass windows/walls and glass staircase. The staff was very friendly and informative. There weren't as many exhibits or art peices as I expected and a lot of...More

My mother and I truly enjoyed ourselves. We headed downtown, to check out the farmer's market, and found there was a festival going on so we decided to go to the museum. Some of the fiber art wasn't my cup of tea, but we found...More

Maybe half of this museum was art. The other half was poor drawings and items thrown together to be called "art". Not sure how a piece of fuzzy materiel that I could have cut off of a stuffed animal is considered art. Glad this was...More

The Taubman is a shining star in the Roanoke Valley. The museum showcases art from both local and world class talent. Also a good venue for events. The building itself is worth seeing.
