Felt a bit old to be here, place is great for people under 30’s and a lot of money has been spent upgrading the surrounding areas.
Beach doesn’t change, still one of the best in metropolitan area.
Cafe’s and restaurants packed again with young people, if only😎

We were both fairly familiar with Scarborough, my wife from younger days and myself from 2010 when I was lucky to enjoy some luxurious accommodation while working in Perth for 11 weeks. Much has changed with the redevelopments of the foreshore area and allied infrastructure. Beach still looks great but little patronage on the day. Great adjacent facilities and no doubt the sunset is just as magical as when I enjoyed it from my balcony on the 9th floor.

Scarborough Beach is the end of Australia -- you can't go any further West. Apart from a wonderful sunset, there's lots of entertainment. By the way, it's one of the closest ocean beaches to the Perth CBD. "Scabs" has good surf, summer and winter.

What a fantastic beach. Easy to access, beautiful sand and some wave action. Toilets are excellent. Loved it!

We love Scarborough Beach, it's clean, has great ammenities, heaps of good eateries and bars. It has a great twilight market and live entertainment. The best sunsets in the country. We stay at the Indian Ocean Hotel, just couple of minutes from the beach.

This beach is very popular for its beach and surrounding bars but now for its Thursday sunset night markets. Its s great place for a swim throughout the day but stick around to watch the sunset and enjoy the variety of food trucks and entertainment.

Look I am not sure about the range of menu requirements but I know most restaurants are aware of customer's personal needs.
I have been to both restaurants and they offer a great menu and cater for individual needa.Hope thos helps.

We are arriving 9 January .... I read the new pool is being filled and you will be able to drive through the front area again ....will the construction spoil our holiday?

Is the sea too rough for kids to play and swim in as I've heard it's a surfers beach with lots of rip tides.

We stayed right across from the beach and there were plenty of children swimming there. Best time was in morning before midday as the wind seemed to be breezy late in the afternoon. Most days we were there it was pretty calm. This was at the end of January early Feb. I think it is a pretty fabulous place as the water is so blue and the sand so white with good amenities around.

Hi, we will be staying the scarborough beach area next weekend for 2 nights. Would like some recommendation of places to eat (especially on the sat evening when we arrive from Malaysia) and activities to do. And will it be very cold now, especially at night?
Thanks

On Saturday evening you will find something nice along the beachfront area, there is so much to choose from, just go for a walk and you will find something to please your appetite, dont's stress !!
There is the lovely Rendezvous Hotel in a strategic position you cant miss it. Meals
available inside as there are a couple of nice restuarants & bars to choose from.
Highly recommend this one.
Also situated on the waterfront is a Thai Restaurant, A casual Greek Restaurant, A fish
Restuarant and many, many more, so dont worry beforehand as you wont go hungry.
It is winter in Perth so the days will be cool, overcast however arounnd 20 degrees during the day so very nice to stroll around and get grounded, perhaps a 30 minute jaunt along the sandy beach or sealed footpath north up to Triggs Island where you will find a lovely place to have a coffee and a nice meal.
Night temps are around 10 degrees so bring your scarves, woolly hats and jackets,
especially coming in from the tropics as you no doubt will feel it more than the average
local who still can be seen in shorts and tee shirts!!
Have a lovely stay, I am sure you will love it at Scarborough as this is one of the most
pristine beaches in the world and to just experience this beach, the silky soft, white sand, long walks, sunsets over the Indian Ocean, will surely be enough to keep you busy for two days.
Enjoy the moments, time goes quick !!

How is the surf?

It's wild! Scarborough has great waves, but is also a place where most of us who grew up here got 'dumped' dozens of times. There's an infamous 'rip' that can carry even strong swimmers a long way, so it's important to swim and surf between the flags that are positioned on the beach to reduce mishaps.
