I travelled from Southend by Cooks coach. This place is very interesting, the house has many photographs and paintings and historical facts about Churchills life. No photography is allowed in the house, tours are timed by ticket. There are many interesting articles on display, medals,...More

Winston Churchill is such a big figure in UK history, so visiting his home and studio is a must. Added to the house the gardens, especially the kitchen garden make it good value.

Great place to spend a few hours wondering through the historic house with lots of history on display, then stroll through the large gardens. Cafe on site with usually selection at over inflated prices.

Chartwell is fascinating! From Winston's study, through to the library and then onto his painting studio - all arranged as though he'd just popped out into the beautiful gardens. A wonderful day out!

The adult home of Winston Churchill provides a look into the unfolding of history in the 20th Century, as well as Churchill himself. Beautiful grounds and home make this a must stop for history buffs. The on-grounds cafe provides a nice, affordable lunch.

The house was lovely and the tour beautiful. Loved seeing all of Churchill's uniforms. Didn't know he was such a fashionista! Now wonder he was friends with Coco Channel! The grounds are immaculately cared for and peaceful. Spent more time on the grounds than in...More

How did you get there? We're staying in London and we would really like to visit, but we have to rely on public transportation. Thanks!
