This is a lovely Park effectively in the centre of Ilford, It has a great boating lake which i used in the summer but there was a lot of weeds at the far end which does need tending too. The mansion they built recently is a beautiful building and the park overall for walking, cycling, taking kids to the play... More

Visited as we were manning a stall for a wedding fair. Nice building and surrounding gardens. It's like a green oasis in the middle of a concrete jungle.

Since they did this up about 8? years ago it's really found a place in local hearts.Thank goodness it didn't become a burger restaurant. It's lovely if small scale. I especially like the kitchen and range etc. It's historical value comes from it being complete with it's original park setting which they've also restored. Free nice to wander round or... More

I have been fortunate enough to have visited Valentines mansion over many years and seen it go from a no access site to restoration and on different occasions, access all areas. It really is a find and once on the grounds you can easily forget the busy road that runs from Gants Hill tube station to Ilford. It's not any... More

This place really brings the past to life, you can dress up in old costumes, visit kitchens with authentic noises and sheets for children to complete. Lots going on for children. Recently excellant exhibition on refugees to the area during the Second World War, surprising how many.

It has a bit of history. Open to public on certain days of month. A lovely garden and garden cafe just opposite inside the park itself. A must visit.

We travelled by public transport to Gants Hill underground station and Valentines Park and the mansion were just a short walk away. The house, surrounded by pretty gardens, was very interesting especially the kitchen area set out like the 1800s. The house was built towards the end of the 17th Century and has been well preserved. Definitely worth a visit... More

Very disappointing - the scone was dry and crumbly and the clotted cream was not very nice. One of the two strawberries was bruised and over-ripe. £8.50 is just far too much to pay especially as we were all seated around one large table. Now whilst I consider myself reasonably sociable I didn't want to sit with 8 strangers -... More

Dear Monica, Many thanks for your feedback, as always we welcome comments on all of our events and hire. We’re sorry to hear that you were disappointed with the cream tea at the Mansion. Rather than just a regular cream tea, guests were treated to a guided tour of our new exhibition both in the Gallery and Bird Room, before... More

As a guest at the party, I was advised the costs were very reasonable, which was for most of the rooms of the upper and lower floors. A most beautiful place set in the Valentines park, which itself is manicured and has beautiful places to walk. Many events are held at the mansion covering all ethnicities. It can be visited...
