Not a surrealist aficionado but well worth the price to go have a look. It is truly awe inspiring to see what he has accomplished in, His very long lifetime. If one is in figueres don't miss it.

Interesting journey in Dalí's life and creative world, full of inspiring details, original art works by the same artist and a lovely garden with a stunning view on the sea. Surely worth paying a visit. Prior reservation is compulsory.

The Salvador Dali museum is an awesome experience. Whether you know the story of this awesome man or not you enjoy this experience. Also the museum that houses his jewelry collection is an absolute must see too!

A fantastic look into the home and surrounds of Dali. Great to see this inspiration behind Dali's work. More interesting than just visiting a gallery of his artwork. In high season definitely book ahead. They are military with their timings so be prepared to pick...More

Really enjoyed this visit. It was fun to see how Dali lived and what inspiration he took from his home and surrounding area. I think this is a different perspective than you would get from visiting an art gallery. Must buy tickets in advance if...More

Dali museum-house is a relaxing place and gives nice pondering of this house's meaning to Dali works. Advanced booking is a must as this is a very tiny place and they cannot allow too many people at a time.

We decided to visit Dali's house that illustrates so well the painter's life and his work. The house is very interesting because of its architecture based on volumes and light. The garden is also very peaceful and a new object or sculpture is to be...More

It takes some work to arrange to buy tickets, get there exactly on time to pick them up, must get there a half hour early or they will give your ticket away, but all worth it to see the home. I completely understand why they...More

Staying in Cadeques is the best way to stroll over the hill (10mins) to view his house and Studio. Great to do before the main Museum in Figueres to get an idea of the man himself. Beautiful position, with eccentric oddities at every turn you'll...More

You can take the AVE high speed train to Figueres (1 hour) then a 20 minute walk to the Dali Museum. You can then hire a cab to take you to the Dali House in Port Ligat (see my review). Be sure you have reservations for the... More

For car rental, there are several in Figueras (Europcar, Budget, etc) and in Girona. Driving should be straight forward, but make sure you have a good GPS if you want to make the Dali triangel.

I think you have the answers to your question above. I would add that I believe it would be a mistake not to give Cadaques a bit more time. Consider spending a night or two there.
