About
Since first opening almost 25 years ago the Marina has expanded and can now hold over 450 boats and is able to house 60 meter super yachts, we regally receive V.I.P visitors to the marina in some breathtaking yachts that constantly stop visitors in their paths to take photos. Puerto Calero Marina has an array of top quality Cafes, Bars and Restaurants that run along the waters edge that cater for all tastes and nationalities so don't forget to allow extra time after your trip to sample some of the local Tapas, or simply check out some of the menus so you can plan a return visit during your holiday. If you fancy flexing the credit card then there are also many designer shops to peruse here too.

Lovey harbour with a few designer shops, along with a small supermarket, pharmacy, souvenir shops etc. the harbour club Is definitely worth a trip for lunch/dinner!

check your change when paying in the shops/smaller cafes, or use small bills - twice we paid with a €20 but when receiving our change the €10 note was ‘forgotten’. Could be coincidence, but these were two separate shops and neither argued, just instantly gave the €10.

Nice to stroll the marina area. Good walks, hikes, trails in all directions. Great restaurants along seafront.

Wednesday 30th March and we visited Marina Puerto Calero, which is on the southeastern coast of the Island, almost 5 kilometres from Puerto del Carmen.

Our visit here was not on our itinerary, we thought oh just a Marina, we ended up here as result of taking the wrong exit off the roundabout. We were pleased that we made the error and visited here.

We parked up in the free car park just outside the entrance to the Marina and then walked in and began our walk about.

There is more to see and do here than look at the boats there are a number of interesting features to this well maintained Marina.

The first feature that we encountered was the fountain, which was not working, but it's large metal sculpture was certainly eye-catching.

There is a wide variety restaurants to visit along the top of the promenade. We enjoyed a stroll along the promenade it was an opportunity to see the vast number and variery of boats moored up. There was one boat in particular, an old tall sail ship which we stopped to admire.

While walking the promenade visitors can enjoy the scenic and mountains background as well as appreciating the expanse of the Marina.

Having done all that there is still Calle Isla Los Lobos to walk along and visit it's shops and enjoy the metal artwork on the walls of the street.

From the Marina visitors can catch the water ferry to Puerto del Carmen, for adults it was €8 one way and €15 return.

There is also a scenic clifftop walk from The Marina to Puerto del Carmen.

We used to love this place , however standards have deteriorated significantly.

With La Porteña closed it is hard to get a decent meal.

Finnegans in the port is nothing short of shocking , terrible food and nobody cares.

Upper Deck is still brilliant and the only place that is still worth visiting .

The port is small , it needs to be good . COVID19 will have affected it greatly and that’s sad.

There is , however , no place for apathy , poor food and service .

We stayed at a hotel in this area and it is quiet, classy and quaint with an excellent range of restaurants available. There are cash points, a supermarket and clothes shops too.

A really awesome place to visit for a walk or some food and drink. Head there on market day to grab some real local bargains.

We stayed on a boat booked by booking .com it was terrible I was very well mislead trying to write a review about the boat but no trip advisor to write it as it doesn’t appear on here..sorry to the marina ..we literally stayed one night on the boat and found alternative accommodation at an extra cost ..the boat is an old boat some reviews on booking .com stated some old memorabilia it was just all the owners clutter the boat smelt of engine fumes and poo the loo didn’t flush properly the advert didn’t tell you had to shower in the marina s facilities.the add said two loos two showers only 1 loo was supposed to be working and shower well not enough hot water to wash one foot and my feet arnt big the gas cooker nearly burnt my hand trying to light it and bedding smelt mouldy .and getting on and off was having to climb and pull your self up not good when your getting over a slip disc that definitely should of been mention in the ad it’s fine I guess if you like that type of thing but not for me

Visited this many times in our trip walking along the coastal path from Secrets hotel takes about 10 mins. The Marina is lovely and has some fabulous boats and yachts to gaze at. There are lots of bars and restaurants to choose from as well as more upmarket shops selling designer and regular priced goods. There is a supermarket and a small market on a Tuesday and Friday worth visiting. Plenty of parking. Worth a visit but won’t actually take very long maybe an hour or so to stroll around .
