Not much to see, even when driving past. Not really worth a photo as it all looks rather uninteresting compared to the rest of the island. You can get a tea here if you are gasping. On the road from Playa Blanca to El Golfo.

A very quiet black shingle and sand beach by the salt pans at Janubio. Not suitable for swimming, this is a red flag beach, but paddling is fine as long as you don't mind getting drenched every now and again. Waves are big and powerful...More

We pulled into the car park, took some pix and left again. Lovely location and lovely views. There is a cafe there.

It's well worth the drive out through the lava fields to see this place. It's obvious to see it's a dying industry but it's still spectacular to see what is quite a spectacle. Lot's of photo opportunities and other places to visit on the way.

Beautiful views of Salt field, with true colours, great for pics as giving amazing background. Worth to read a bit about the salt system prior viewing.

A bit off the beaten track but well worth a visit. Salt water is pumped into the pools and then the sun evaporates the water to leave the pure sea salt. At one time salt was the main trade and export of Lanzarote and all...More

This might be a very interesting place, since already the ancient civilications produced salt that way. Of course nowadays, it can't economically compete with the world market of industrial produced salt... so it is only run to show how it was done in earlier times....More

This is well worth a visit to see salt being produced from sea water, in pools that gradually allow the water to evaporate in the harsh sun in centuries old lagoos, well worth a visit to see something so unusual..... and it is free.
