Entry to the palace was included in the tour of the Monastery which we hadn't expected. The furniture and surroundings are very interesting and extremely lavish which I guess you should expect when it was the summer palace of King Santo. There are only a...More

Entry to the Palace comes as part of the ticket for the adjacent monastery, but it would seem that most tourists (perhaps because they have been bussed in and are on a tight schedule) do not visit. This is a serious omission! The furnishings a...More

Opulence is the word that best describes the summer palace in Valdemossa of King Sacho. It is found in the oldest part of the Carthusian Monastery. Only a few rooms are open to the public including the hallway, drawing rooms, dining room and kitchen. The...More

Much to our children's disgust we hired a car and drove up the MA-10. It can be very bendy in places so a bit stop start. Luckily we'd taken a packed lunch as the restaurant where we stopped was closed on a Thursday! The sea...More

Nothing much to see here at Valldemossa. Entrance fee €8.50 and additional €4.00 if you want to visit Chopin's room and garden. Little museum and exhibition to know a bit about the town with calm and peaceful green environment.

It was an interesting building and exhibition, livened up by a very good 15 minute Chopin concert. This could be fitted in nicely with a monastery tour - either before, after or both - 2 concerts!

Right beside the monastery. An easy walk through and viewing. Photos permitted. Well-preserved and maintained. Interesting historical perspective. Some areas not accessible (bedrooms). Worth the time especially just before closing when there's less people.

Visited on the same entrance ticket as for the much more impressive monastery, but well worth a brief visit whilst you enjoy your trip to this stunning village high up in the mountains. Although open until 6.30pm, the staff seemed eager to move us on...More
