Interesting to see dry volcanic landscape with almost no vegetation that is different from the rest of Madeira. Definitely worth visiting. Easy trip.

Fantastic scenery and fascinating geology. Allow plenty of time. Add an extra 30 mins to appreciate the wonderful views (and recover from the climbs!).

In December this was like walking the Cornish coast path in June. Well worth the effort and I would do it again.
