It had been a while since our last visit to the Botanical Gardens. We were amazed by the casualness of the woodland paths along Lake Whitehurst and through the Enchanted Forest...great mulched paths with informative but un-intrusive placards with naming information of trees, bushes and...More

This is the only botanical garden in the US with a tram and boat tour. It was built in 1938 and is on 175 acres of beautiful park to tour. All times of year something is in bloom. April sounds best with the azaleas blooming.

Something for everyone. Fountains for kids to play in, dogs were welcome, gorgeous flowers and butterflies everywhere, playground, trolley if you didn't want to walk, even food. We just planned to go for the day but ended up getting a family membership.

Such a nice facility. We walked for an hour then took the Tram Tour. Guide is very knowledgeable so I would recommend it. Wonderful variety of trees and flowers and plants.

Yes, there is still lots to see even though it's not peak season. Right now the roses are in full bloom, but there's always something wonderful in the gardens, no matter the season. Hope this helps.
