Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

This Santa Lucia Church was built in the first half of the 19th century with just one single nave.
Admission is free, although a (small) donation will always be appreciated.

We visited this delightful small church on our wanderings around the town of Alberobello. It is dedicated to Santa Lucia, patron saint of Alberobello. It is set in a small square with a cooling fountain. From there we had a wonderful view of the trulli town. We were so happy to have found it.. .

This church which over looks both Rione Monti and Rione Aia Piccolo areas of Alberobello is a branch church of Parrocchia Sant'Antonio di Padova. It was originally called Chiesa del SS. Sacramento. In 1856, the church was blessed again and started to worship Santa Lucia, the patron saint of Alberobello. It is of a single nave with no transept design. Inside is a relic of Santa Lucia.

The church is small and simple, but the view is fantastic. I think it's the best spot to see and photograph the Trulli Huts.

The church is in the shelter of the Belvedere (viewpoint) from where it is possible to admire the whole monumental area of the Trulli and the Palazzo dei Conti Acquaviva di Conversano with an immense terrace on the right. The solemn celebrations of Santa Lucia take place each year on 25th and 26th May. It has a very austere façade. The dome, which towers over the belfry, takes inspiration from the sphericity of the trullo and from the pinnacle.

Worth visiting although not much to see. However, I would mention that the steps up the hill and particularly down the hill are very dangerous and slippery. They have obviously been polished by thousands of footsteps and they are lethal. I found myself clinging to the side of houses to avoid slipping.

Santa Lucia's construction began in 1829 and was inaugurated on February 2, 1838. It is a smallish church in a pretty square with a nice fountain in front of it. You can look across towards the trullis, it's a very nice view.

Took shots of the Santa Lucia Church, by night, when we arrived in Alberobello.
Would have loved to visit the interior too, but the next morning we were ready to hit other towns in Apulia.
