Near Agios Petros, but I wouldn't want to drive

I went up on a Tuesday. The entrance is locked, which I can understand in order to keep out vandals or possibly campers, but I was disappointed to not get to go inside because it... read more

I went up on a Tuesday. The entrance is locked, which I can understand in order to keep out vandals or possibly campers, but I was disappointed to not get to go inside because it looked pretty cool. And felt cool from the breeze coming out the entrance I walked there via route 15. The part of this route that... More

Although we started heading there after having heard that the Tower is something exceptional, we ended up wasting tons of time trying to get there. There are literally no signs in the road to lead you there and every path the GPS or maps suggested ended up in big and really harsh dirt roads that are not drivable with a... More

Giants propably existed and if so they certainly lived here! This tower is located on your way to Vitali and is one of the most astonishing buildings of Cyclades. Amazing!

When we visited the tower was in a poor state but I believe that work has now started to renovate/protect it.

It is a nice landmark but very badly maintained and not welcoming to visitors. Not a sign, not traveller information. The path to visit it not suitable at all.

This tower is considered to be one of the most preserved Cycladic Towers. A little bit of walking needed since there is a fence and you need to leave the car outside. Really worth visiting.

Work has progressed on the restoration of the tower of St. Peter. Work on the road opening up the tower have been completed. The tower at Agios Petros on Andros dates from the Hellenistic period (4th-3rd centuries B.C.) and is one of the best preserved towers in the Cyclades. It is cylindrical, made of local schist, with a diameter of... More
