. Well Worth the Admission

Very interesting collection of exhibits in a beautiful setting. Glorious views from the windows. Go before it gets too hot in the day as it is a bit of a climb.

Although we spent four days in Naxos and walked around Chora Old Town many times, the much vaunted castle remained something of a chimera. We never discovered much more than a wall here or part of a tower there! The Venetian Museum is set in a wall of the castle (apparently!) and is therefore much older than the period of... More

This museum give you a laminated sheet to walk through the house to see various things. My wife thought it was much more interesting then me. The best part of the museum was looking outside at the views of Naxos town and the waterfront.

We didn't actually view the museum but did purchase tickets to one of the performances in the Cultural Festival the museum organizes and hosts. We saw Nikos Giolias perform. We were outside in a protected corner with the castle as the backdrop behind Nikos. Stunning performance and highlight of our time in Naxos.

The Venetian is resplendent with household furniture and costumes from an elegant past. Fantastic views from the windows overlooking the port. A must see in Nazos

What an amazing experience. Formerly the guard house next to the entrance gate into the castle built in 1207. It was remodelled in 1904 as a magnificent home. Walk back in time to see the original furniture and be stunned by the magnificent views onto the harbour. Going into the cellar below takes you back to a time when pirates... More

I have been in the museum before which is interesting. We went to one of their cinema nights and saw Casablanca projected on the a screen on the side of the castle. great film but location fantastic. Please do more of these.

This was a home of I think it was a ship's captain - high up so he could see the entrance of the harbour. It's crammed with memorablia and knick knacks you can buy. I found a beautiful hand made silver ice bucket for only 15 euros. The lady is very proud and enjoys giving you some history.

Admirable intact and well-maintained rooms. Look at the details in the construction, furniture etc Recommended walk up the alleys.

The museum was a close up look at a personal residence on the island. It was organized in four separate rooms and had several artifacts from life in Naxos. Great views of the port from one of the rooms
