Great place to get great views back onto the town and to get great pics of the sunset. Needs more information on the site to give visitors a richer experience - and it's a typical Greek ancient site, they dig it up and leave it...More

There isn't much of the ruin left, but it's free of charge, and if you climb the hill you will get excellent photos of the surrounding area.

We went to Naxos from Santorini to visit this place and we dont regret it!The view and the vibe once up there is very nice. From the portara you can admire all the city and harbour.

Great place to sit and relax after visiting the Temple of Apollo. Watch the island ferries manoeuvre into the port and enjoy a good view of the harbour and the old town.

Here's why I love this place: 1) Very historic - I suggest you guys read up on it. 2) Has great views 3) Easy to access 4) Makes for great pictures and selfies due to its sheer size.

Portara is a part of Naxos experience. You just must to go there otherwise you cannot say you were in Naxos. You can make nice pics from there or play with Portara as a background.

Easy walk up here. Fun times dodging the crashing waves. Best part: watching the sunset from the temple. A very spiritual feast as well as visually stunning. One of the best sunsets I've witnessed.

The enchanted island of Apollo, a place to truly relax the mind, body and soul...a diverse island of tall mountain peaks and marble villages, wonderfully produced artisan food products, rich in history and mythology and golden sandy beaches...

Go there quickly before or after ferry journey. Quick walk across the walkway with the sea spraying then walk up the hill. Great view.

Beautiful setting sun over Aegean much calmer scene than Oia in Santorini and the Portara is nice to look at other times of day too
