Small church, worth a quick look

It's a small church, but worth a few minutes to have a look in. Right on the main street in Bacharach.

The chapel of St. Joseph was built into the row of houses of Oberstraße by the court architect Josef Rabaliatti as Catholic chapel in the second half of the 18th century. Not really interesting from an art historic point of view. A gloomy and quiet place to rest.

Easy to find, located on the main street of Bacharach. Small chapel, but worth taking a moment to stop and pray.

Lovely church in the high street - very quiet when we visited. Think that Mondays were quiet days in Bacharach - other days would probably be busier, as the shops would be open. Worth a visit.

What a lovely little chapel. If you took away the electricity that powers the lights little else would have changed in the last 200 years . Worth a pop into visit for 5 mins of your time to take a moment out of life and relax in the simplicity of this church .

The chapel is built into a row of houses (Oberstrasse 39) as the Catholic Monastic Joseph Chapel and built in 1758 by court-architect Rabaliatti, only the Flèche and the façade axle with round-arched portalniche do mark this as a chapel. It was donated by Elector Carl Theodor to the Latin school (Catholic Gymnasium) as Rector's chapel. Inaugurated in 1760. The... More
