We went as a team of three to escape from the "Espionnage" room. The main enigma was quite interesting, but the overall experience was subpar.

Most of the furniture was straight from Ikea, and still had barcodes and labels on them, which can be quite confusing when you are looking for numbers to open padlocks... Some furniture were not properly assembled and fell apart during the game.

When we really needed a clue, our Game Master gave us a tip, but it was related to a puzzle we had already solved 5 minutes before... It was somewhat deceiving and we did not make it out in time.

We played a dozen other rooms in France and Europe, and this one was a bit of a let down. Come on guys, time to step up your game !

Hello, thank you for your point of view. First, we are sorry you didn't had the best experience we could provide, our players are always very happy with the "Espionnage" room which is not an easy one (only 30% winners). You are right, we chose for this room furnitures that came (for most of it) from stores like Ikea, mainly because it was linked with the atmosphere we wanted to provide (modern). We choose to keep the barcodes because it's a way of confusing our gamers, it was intended :) We are sorry you had a problem with one of the furniture that fell apart, it happens sometimes, our room welcome a high number of gamers and some of them are a bit rough with the furniture, which we always repair and fix before the next game. Then, it seems that you had a mistunderstood with the game master, we try to be very thorough with our players and, even then, human mistake can happen and it's possible that the game master couldn't see very well where you were in the game (some enigmas can be done quite discreetly :) ). You sould had said so to the GM, he would have been pleased to answer your question and give you another advice. We really want our player to have the best time possible, this is why we can offer you a 20% off your next game in one of our room. We hope to see you again ! Escape Yourself Rennes' team
