View of a Massive Construction Site
Sep 2021
This once awesome view is now marred by the massive construction site in the former main town parking. The old parking lot is being converted to an expansion of the D-Day museum of questionable need.

great sea views
Jun 2019
the town and promenade are to die for, with great bars and small shops, and while you can see leftover of the pontoons used to create a temporary harbour for the vessel to land after D-Day, a quick trip on the nearby falaise can provide an immeasurably better view

Gold Beach
Sep 2019
Visited Gold Beach as part of D Day trip to all five beaches.

There is plenty to do and see here with the remains of the cassons from the Mulberry Harbour still present. You are actually shaking hands with history on this beach.

Whilst dining in the evening a Canadian pipe band marched along the High Street and gave a beautiful concert for an hour at the top of the beach head this was very evocative as the sun set.

A great place to visit with plenty of exhibits on display in public areas.

Visit of Arromanches-les-Bains.
Aug 2019
From the village of Arromanches-les-Bains, you have the possebility to make a pedestrain walk to the “Falaises” or Cliffs. Doing so you will get a magnificent view of the cliffs and the harbour of Arromanches. But not only that you will see, you will see also from another angle the remains of the military constructions in the see “The Mulberries” who have served for the landing, but on the pedestrain walk be very careful and stay on the road, there is always danger looking arround the corner,

Historical location!
Aug 2019
The cliffs offer a beautiful view of the town, beach and the remains of the Mulberry Harbours, which were the temporary portable harbours used by the Allies during WWII.

Good views of the cliffs in the surroundings of the town
Dec 2018 • Family
Les Falaises d'Arromanches are the cliffs in the surroundings of the town of Arromanches-sur-Mer, a little town in the coast of Normandy, in the North of France. When you drive around the town, following the coastline, there are some lookouts, from where you can see beautiful views of these cliffs. Nice to stop, when you drive near here.

It's a nice place to take an overview about all the great bridges that were built for the overlord operation.

Great views
Jun 2019 • Solo
Parking in Arromanches can be problematic and so here there’s plenty of space for 3euros a day. Great views across the town and remains of the Mulberry harbour from the viewing platform and if reasonably fit then it’s only 300metres down the steep descent (and ascent!!) into Arromanches. The 360deg cinema is also here but didn’t visit as to be honest after two days I was “film and museum’d out”. Have to say that in my opinion the town is a complete tourist trap and often full of bored and noisy school parties but there’s plenty of cafes and restaurants where you can enjoy a good lunch and drink.
