Nothing can detract from the awesome story of the D-Day landings. The location, overlooking the remains of the huge Mulberry Harbour built at Arromanches is unique - the trip for that view is worth it alone. But the museum is, frankly, disappointing. The displays are...More

Fantastic Museum, made special by our young lady tour presenter, in perfect English with French accent, clear simple presentation, just brilliant. The explanation of the landing at Arromanches, 'Gold Beach' is superb to listen to the story and how it was carried out.

Worth going for just the video. You get a better understanding of how the temporary floating harbors played such an important role in the war.. Without them, the invasion would not have progressed.

Nothing special but not expensive. A quick way to learn a few bits and lose an hour. Tie it in with other visits, it's not a day on it's own.

This small museum contains items about the landings but the main exhibits, and the main reason to come, is for the temporary harbours. Building these was an incredible engineering feat. The museum has some excellent models of the various components, and a good film (in...More

I was expecting for another D day museum, and for sure it was, but very different from the others museum you can find in Normandy. Located at the Arromanches beach, this museum is specifically about the Churchill artificial harbor: how that was designed, since when...More
