Enjoyable outing for the whole family. Nice reserve that is privately funded. I understand that it's best to visit in the morning when the butterflies are most active. As for access... The reserve was easy to find using the directions on their website. There was...More

A lovely place to visit in the morning. It is a non commercial project. Most important is that the butterflies get good possibilities to survive, not to show tourists around. Still this kind of project costs so just visit the place so it can survive!

The owner is very friendly and, if you speak Spanish, will engage in interesting conversation. The butterflies are present around the reserve, but they are mostly kept within a large net (roughly the size of a bungalow), where a full garden and drying fruit keep...More

Great place to see all types of butterflies. The reserve manager is working to create the right habitat for each species. The enclosure is large and the butterflies were very active when we went at about 2 in the afternoon. The road is not great...More

The butterfly reserve is a very peaceful place with beautiful butterflies and also some pretty flowers and plants. It was small, but nice. But don't go walking! It is not easy to find and we got really lost. And it was extremely hot! The people...More

We made the mistake of walking here from downtown Granada. It was quite a walk and I think we spent most of it assuming we'd gone the wrong way. It was also extremely hot. The apparent poverty of the people living along the road was...More

The ride up is eye opening, if you're driving yourself it's best off in an SUV. The reserve itself is modest, but beautiful. Worth the $5 per person! Take some time out of your day for a visit to see tons of beautiful butterflies.
