Full Day Nicaragua Tour from Costa Rica

106 reviews
Visit Nicaragua with the security and convenience of a group tour on a day trip from Costa Rica. By traveling with a driver and guide, first-time visitors to Nicaragua can see the country's southern highlights without the hassle of navigating the border crossing or public transportation. Plus, with all the logistics covered in advance, you can squeeze in a boat ride, shopping, and wildlife viewing all in one day.

We visited the museo and were taken on a fun tour by one of the enthusiastic ladies who worked there. She explained the process of growing to processing the cacao to the form we know so well. She even got us singing and dancing too! The tour lasted around 10min and whilst 'free', there is an expectation of a tip. There is also a 60ft swimming pool that you can use in the complex for a daily fee.

We dropped in for a quick tour and were given a brief history of the cocoa bean to Chocolate. Those doing the workshop were having a great time dancing as they bashed and rolled the chocolate! We sampled the chocolate drinks - one like Baileys, a rum one and a couple of others. All very good.

The staff is energetic and explain chocolate with enthusiasm which makes for a fun environment. I had a hot chocolate one day and it was pretty good though I was concerned that there was no hand washing sink visible. I also registered for their chocolate making workshop and was the only participant. She did not wash her hands or clean the counter we worked on, and I wasn't given an opportunity to wash my hands either. What was supposed to be a 90 minute or so workshop was just 45 minutes. My recommendation is to do their quick & free tour where you just tip the leader, and skip the workshop.
