My daughter and I took a half day tour to Mombacha volcano with Tierra tours, recommended by our hotel in Granada. We were picked up at our hotel, driven all the way to the top ( after a stop at a coffee farm, where we learned a great deal about coffee production in Nicaragua), and taken on a guided nature... We spent a 1/2 day with Carlos and it was great. Our first stop was El Coyotepe Fortress. He gave us a tour and explained the history as one of the most notorious prisons during the civil war. Then it was on to Masaya. We saw it in daylight and then hiked around the nearby hills to watch the sunset... More

The Tierra Tour office staff and guides were outstanding, and the tours offered (including Masaya volcano and the Isletas of Lake Nicaragua) were a highlight of our trip. The guides were friendly and knowledgeable, and the drivers very reliable. Our Masaya volcano tour included a visit to both major craters and a hike into a lava tunnel. The Isletas tour... More

I spend one night in Granada and plan to return on Saturday. I was thinking to ride back a bus (Managua express) which costs only US$1. In weekdays and rush hours it is relly crowded but in weekends not so much. Since I was there only one night and originally planned to stay in Gradada until that evening. Then take... More

We had a really nice tour with the knowledgeable Gustavo. Thanks to Roberto who drove us there! We also booked Tierra tour in Leon to do volcano boarding and it was nice as well.

The tour was really good and complete. We went to Masaya, Granda city tour and we added for $20 a tour to the isletas just outside of Granada. The picked us up and dropped us at our hotel in Managua. The price was really affordable. We did not even know that tour included a car pulled by horses around Granada.... More

Trip is well worth going on but was made especially good by our superb guide gustavo. His English is excellent and he clary loves his subject, recounting many interesting facts about the cloud forest. Fun then to finish off with zip wire. The expertise of guiding fully justifies the usd55 fee, which can vary up for smaller groups. Impressed with... More
