We were thinking of going but when I looked at the elephants looked distressed. Just do your research on how these animals are trained to allow humans to ride them. I recommend the elephant sanctuary in Chiang Mai where you walk with then and give...More

We visited to look at prices and conditions of the elephants. Soon turned around as they all looked so stressed and uncomfortable. In areas where they can hardly move. Wasn't a pleasant sight and we decided we wouldn't fund such an business. After all the...More

Our guide Puza was very friendly, knowledge and spoke great English. The elephants have all been taken in from different domestic situations (circuses, chair rides, etc.) so they wouldn't be able to survive in the wild. They seem well-treated and the mahout process was well...More

We saw a young elephant attached to a very short chain moving forward, get blocked by the chain, crying, moving back and repeating the loop continously. It was so sad that we moved immediately away. Saddest experience in a two months trip.
