We stayed in a cottage right on the trail at the Cliffview Trailhead. Got in on a late afternoon, unloaded our bikes and checked out the trail to Galax & back (flat, no horses permitted on this section & well used, maybe 6 miles RT)....More

I've biked this former rail trail numerous times. Always very enjoyable. Great scenery (New River and Blue Ridge Mtns.). One of the best long trails in eastern North America, if not THE best.

We camped at Foster Falls Monday 4/2 thru Friday 4/6. For the most part we had the place to ourselves and it was lovely. The campground is outstanding except for the lack of showers. If it had showers it would be in my top favorites...More

Day 1 we rode from Draper trailhead to Foster Falls and back. Day 2 began at Foster Falls and headed the other way, to Ivanhoe and back. Easy grade in all directions, though there is no coasting - you are always pedaling. Wide enough to...More

We hit a couple entrances to this and hiked it in October 2017. If in the area again, we will do even more.

This trail is a little too long for the two of us to ride all in one day. We had an outfitter drive us up to Foster Falls and began our ride back towards Fries. We rode to Galax on the trail spur, then after...More

Go north to south. Last part of trail from New river to Pulaski is a long uphill slog for south to north riders at the end of a long ride. Also, trail cut off to downtown Pulaski train station takes you by the sewage treatment...More

I was expecting more water falls as it just looked like some rapids. The park itself was great. There were horses, canoe's, fishing and biking. The receipt for the $5 parking pass had a 10% off coupon for the store.

I don't think so... I have wondered the same thing but we have always had to take 2 cars (one at start, and one at finish) or double back and end where started.

That will depend on how far you want to go and whether you are doing a round trip or need to be transported to your start point. You might want to check google maps to see the street view and check out the scenery.
