Visit this vineyard frequently and just think it is one of the nicest ones in the state. The atmosphere and wine is always a delight. Weekends have live music, wood fireplace going, and a fun relaxing feel. It's just a place you want to spend a weekend day or afternoon at. The food they offer is very good as well.... More

Beautiful vineyard that is just off of 29 and easy to get to. They have an itneresting way of doing tastings. The counter is broken into two parts - whites and reds. You taste all of the whites and then move down to the red section. This created a little extra down time waiting for the group in front of... More

Great as a destination to get together and lounge, catch up on stories, drink some wine and have some snacks. We actually went there also to taste their wines. While they do have wines of their own, the wines from other wineries taste better. Reason to go to Early Mt is not their wine, its their venue.

Great facility with nice fireplace and furniture. Rose was very good. Rest of wine was ok but not great. The issue with the place is the service at the tasting bar. We approached a lady doing nothing and she told us to get in a line at the other end of the bar. We went to the other end and... More

I'll admit, this was a little confusing. while I came for a tasting, I ended up in the restaurant and ordered lunch along with a flight of red wines. Blame it on my old age, however I failed to notice I could have ordered just a flight of Early Mountain Wines, instead I ordered a variety flight which was good,... More

We went to Early Mountain less than a year ago for a wedding and planned an entire wine weekend in VA essentially so that we could go back to Early Mountain with friends. The wedding was amazing, the facility and scenery were beautiful and my wife loved the Rose. Unfortunately this was not the same experience. I called ahead and... More

Beautiful surroundings make it easy to enjoy this winery and tasting room. The facility is spacious, with ample, comfortable seating both indoor and outdoor. They often have live music. The main building is immaculate and welcoming, with great service, although it can be a little slow when they are busy on a weekend afternoon. The food is OK, although after... More

We stopped at Early Mountain on our way to Charlottesville. It started to rain so we pulled in. We were greeted immediately and the server explained how the tastings worked. We chose to be seated in the dining area and taste flights. We shared an artisan cheese platter and had one red flight and one of Early Mt wine. Our... More

This was a pleasant surprise, good wines, beautiful setting, good food, pretty views of countryside. There is not a whole lot to do in surrounding area but we were doing wine tasting and national park so it worked for us.

It was voted #1 because the wine is good, the atmosphere is good and the people are nice. We stopped in for our anniversary after reading about it in the paper, and seeing it was voted #1. The lunch options were alright, nothing to write home for. but overall for food at a winery it was good. The wine was... More
