Was really worried on what to expect but found this park to be very nice. We stayed for 5 nights to tour Mt. Veron and Washington, DC. Very friendly staff and clean facilities. We had a very level site with full hook ups. When we return to further explore the Washington area, this is where we'll stay. Camped in a... More

My sons troop uses this park every year (sometimes twice a year) for some of their camping outings. They always have a great time and there is never a complaint about the park or the facilitys

This was a great park with a lot to do. We only had one full day here which was spent visiting Gunston Hall and hiking. It beautiful. If you have an RV, I don't recommend site 42. It was probably the worst in the entire park. The water and electric hook up were on opposite sides. The fire pit was... More

This park has plenty of things to offer such as boat , kayak and canoe rentals , picnic areas that include grills , boat ramps , camping and more . The staff are very helpful and knowledgeable of the area and are always willing to answer questions or offer suggestions . I will come back here again and again .

This park is tucked away near the water and not far from Gunston Hall. I use the well marked hiking trails, and the camping. Also available is a water park and miniature golf. Free to county residents and a modest cost to visitors.

We stopped in just to see what the place was all about and toured in our car. Not much was going on and we were virtually alone in the park around noon on a Thursday. Key points are as follows: - Unsure what they charge military, but there is a difference if you are a resident or not of the... More

We stayed for a week in the campground on a 50 amp site with a 41 ft Class A Motorhome. Sites are rustic and beautiful but choose your site carefully base on the size if your Rig. Many sites are small or awkward to get into. We had some power issues on our site and discussed it with the campground... More

Park is very open spacious and a great place to relax and let loose. Plenty of spots to host.. I did however notice people not picking up after pet waste which is disgusting and there was a lot of it throughout.so encourage more dog poop stations. But otherwise very nice location for activities.

Whether just walking the short, or tossing in a line, or pushing off in a small boat or canoe, you're sure to enjoy your time at this park. Although easy to get to, it has the feel as though you've traveled the day to get there. Turn off the cellphone, leave the laptop at home, and come relax for an... More

I live close by and visit often! They have trails to ride bikes and run on. They offer a boat ramp which we use often, cost is around $8 or you can get a season pass. Have playground and other activities for kids and families- Frisbee golf, put-put golf, small boat rentals, picnic areas, cabins to rent and campsites as... More
