Loved the 1820's house

First time at this winery after visiting many in the area. They have a house from the 1820's where the owner grew up. The owners are super friendly, have a passion for wine... read more

Let me start by saying that I don't drink any wines that aren't sweet, so tastings are lost on me. The rest of my family did partake, however, and they all bought some wine to take home. The historic house is fascinating, and the grounds are beautiful. We very much enjoyed learning about the history of the property.

First time at this winery after visiting many in the area. They have a house from the 1820's where the owner grew up. The owners are super friendly, have a passion for wine making, 95% of the grapes are grown on the land, with the other 5% just down the road, still in Loudon County - it is true Virginia... More

Had a wonderful visit to Zephaniah with my wife, mom, and step dad while in area for a friend's wedding. Went on a Friday afternoon so tasting was in the small Gray house which was very warm and cozy with lots of great wooden furniture. Bill and Bonnie were terrific hosts explaining the unique history of the farm, the names... More

Visited this quaint winery with a girlfriend. We selected it from a list of coupons she had for discounted tastings in the area. We loved the charm and pleasant-ness of the property and staff. We enjoyed a tasting in the family's home, with excellent education from Jordan. Our tasting was followed by a grass-fed burger on the lawn outside the... More

This was our 2nd stop on the Harmony Cluster and it's a much different feel than Stone Tower. At Zephaniah they believe in seated tastings, which was actually a new concept to me, but it felt more relaxed and cozy, especially since we got to be seated by the fireplace. They have a lot of award-winning wines there and I... More

Visited with a friend towards the end of the day. We were welcomed for a tasting even though we were cutting it close to closing time! I forgot the woman's name, but she was beyond kind and we enjoyed some great conversation with her. I really enjoyed their French style rose. The tasting room is beautiful and the property is... Zephaniah is my new favorite winery. It's romantic, fascinating, fun, and the wines are really memorable. Our day included three wineries (Stone Tower, Casanel and Zephaniah) and we all agreed that this was our favorite, in part because it was unique and had such personality (both the property and the owners). The charming and extremely knowledgeable vintner poured our tasting... More

Three of us visited Zephaniah on a warm sunny Saturday afternoon in June. Tastings are held in the living room and library of the circa 1820 home. A refreshing change from some of the larger tasting rooms we've visited. The hosts are delightfully friendly, and the wines - oh my - so good! We brought a small picnic and after... More

The owner of Zephaniah, Bill, is a wonderful man who gave me a great tour of his historic family home (they have only lived there since the 50s). I also got to go on a cellars and barn tour to see where they make the wine. The wines were very nice, but most tasted very woodsy and smoky, which I... More

We've been here twice. The wines are quite good for VA, some even excellent, with condensed flavors in both reds & whites. Tastings are with members of this family, and include stories of their ancestors settled here (I believe) just after the civil war. The house is in pretty much original condition, with old books etc. lining the walls. It's... More
