Established in October of 2008, Casanel Vineyards and Winery is a family-owned and operated business. Our main focus centers on our passion not only for grape-growing, but also for winemaking, emphasized in the way we produce our small lot, craft wines. Our unique terroir, located in the heart of the Middleburg AVA in Leesburg, Virginia, provides us with the perfect setting to achieve our exclusive winemaking style and flavors. The family, along with our stellar vineyard and cellar team, work together each and every year to capture the best expression of our terroir and enthusiasm for winemaking excellence. Each grape is nurtured on the vine, artfully crafted in our cellar, and then finally hand-bottled and hand-labeled before our wine makes its way to your glass. We pride ourselves on providing a truly unique experience in our tasting room, one that is reflected in our quiet, adult ambiance, tranquil setting amidst the Catoctin ridge, and educational approach to tastings. Passion, quality, and attention to detail make our wines a perfect pour, every time. Casanel is closed for the Holidays with their final day of 2015, Monday December 21st. Casanel will reopen in 2016 on Thursday January 14th.

My husband and two boys ages 7 and 9 and I visited Casanel just before Halloween. The staff was really in the holiday spirit, all dressed up and my kids loved it. The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable on the wines and history of the place. We loved the views and the wines were exquisite. Highly recommend!

Out 4th and final stop on the Harmony Cluster tour was Casanel Vineyards. This has a beautiful entrance where you drive through some of the vine area and it looks like there are places for events. We did the tasting and ended up grabbing a few glasses to drink down at the gazebo down by the pond. I really enjoyed... More

We just recently returned to Casanel and spend a nice couple of hours on the deck, on the patio and simply strolling the place. It is so embracing. The wine varieties are for everyone--from sweet to dry, from white to red and sometimes they also have sangria. We enjoyed sitting on the deck overlooking the pond this time--beautiful and relaxing.... More

Did a quick tasting here. The inside of the tasting room has plenty of seating and there is outdoor seating as well. Nothing to write home about as far as the wines go, but the service was super friendly. We learned about the history of the vineyard and the names behind the wines, which was pretty neat.

This was the second winery of the day staff was very knowledgeable and it was fun to see all the wines that were named after family members. The dessert wine is delicious. They have a great outdoor seating area, with a local musician; bring your own picnic lunch, buy a bottle of wine and enjoy.

We enjoyed a nice friendly wine tasting, and then enjoyed a nice glass of wine out on the back deck. It is a fun experience to learn about and taste various wines. Many of them seem to have interesting names and stories behind them. I little different than the average experience. Take the time and stop in. The back deck... More

The lake and gazebo are definitely the stars of this property. The large beautiful tasting room with back porch are also lovely, as is the covered patio outside. Last Saturday there was live music which really added to the atmosphere. You can easily spend 2-3 hours at this property if you do the tasting, hang out, then picnic and stroll... More

Casanel is close to leesburg so we took off with 2 other couples to see what we could find. We were nicely treated and liked the tastings we had. My friends bought a few bottles and we had a picnic. It was cold but we didn't mind. A fun afternoon!

A fantastic winery, with good wines and warm and knowledgeable staff. After the tasting, we sat on their lovely patio overlooking the pond and just relaxed and savor the moment. Highly recommended if wine touring in the area.

The location is nice and spacious. The staff is very nice and friendly, there is plenty of space to sit and read and enjoy a glass or bottle without feeling like you have others around you. The wine is good, we didn't love any of them in particular but we also didn't hate any...that is why I say they are... More
