I visit Sandy Bottom Nature Park regularly. I enjoy the well-maintained trails around the lakes and through the wooded areas. There are public restrooms near the playground and also in the main visitor center. The visitor center has exhibits of reptiles and amphibians on display, as well as a gift shop. Other available activities include fishing, bicycling, canoeing, peddle boating,... More

This park has a wonderful Nature Center with live animals. a meeting room, educational materials, and a some nice items for purchase. You can camp in little cabins by the lake, paddle board, hike, bird watch, and even take a guided tour led by a Park Ranger. It is beautiful and easy walking as it is mostly flat.

There are a few trails and limited parking. Camping is available on site. There is a great wetlands trail with the wildlife to go with it. Bring binoculars so you can get up close and personal with the animals.

What a gem of a park. Hiking trails, wetlands, wildlife, dog-bark park, education center, playground, paddle boat and canoe rentals, camp sites and observation spots. Not sure why more locals have not been here, unplug and take the family for an outdoor adventure!

Took the kids to the park afternoon of New Year's Day. The information center was actually open so we were able to use the facilities and see the live animals on display there. The park was a great hit especially the climbing wall

My boys enjoyed looking at the turtles and snakes in the visitor center. The trail we hiked was even and smooth; we easily pushed the jogging stroller. Our boys loved walking out onto the piers and bridges to watch turtles swimming in the water.

If you visit the park for a short visit, like the playground or the restroom, you're good. However we went camping for what was going to be a 2 night stay with the family. What an absolute nightmare. Read this review with the understaning we are not newbees to camping and I went with my 4 and 6 yr olds,... More
