We stopped here while going to several vineyards in the area. It's definitely off the beaten path. I recommend either all-wheel or 4-wheel drive to get here as you have to wind up the mountain. But if you have the right car, it's a really fun drive. The tasting room, as well as the mountain views, are stunning! The wines... More

I did my homework before traveling to Stone Mountain Vineyards, but words in the reviews didn't do this place justice in two ways. The road up is steep, narrow, and over two miles. Glad we made it, because the view is breath taking. Oh, nearly forgot, this is a vineyard: The wines are pretty good, we liked the Pinot Grigio... More

Luckily, this was our first stop of the day -- had it been our 3rd or 4th, I'm not sure we would have made it up the rough terrain! But, once you are finally at the top of the mountain, it will be worth it. Breathtaking views of the mountain and valley below. Large tasting room as well as a... More

Loved the wine! I usually don't care for wine and don't speak wine snob but we treked up to this vineyard without knowing what we were about to get into. I was pleasantly surprised at how many different types they had and the flavors. My favorite was the Chardonnay. It was crisp and reminded me of a Niagara I had from... More

I was absolutely sure I was going to die on the drive up the narrow gravel road with no guard rails and sheer sides on the way up to the vineyard. Lucky for me the prospect of trying to turn around was even more terrifying. The tasting room is warm and inviting, but it's the view that is to die... More

Most of the reviews are spot on. Use directions from website which work as very few signs posted and GPS will take you a different route. The ride up the mountain is challenging but doable. Fortunately we did not meet anyone going the opposite direction on our adventure up & down. The views are amazing. The wine tastings is in... More

Gorgeous view and tasty wines this spot is well worth the climb up to about 1700 feet. You won't regret it!

Lovely back-of-beyond setting. You might hear the sad family story if you go. We heard after our visit that it is for sale. Bargain price, though!

We ventured up the hill to this winery late on a Saturday afternoon, around 4:15PM. They close at 5, but they still took their time to give us a great tasting experience and told us to go ahead and enjoy our wine there, even though they were closing soon. We ended buying several bottles and a bag of chips to... More

Be sure to take pictures out on the balcony! They have chairs and tables but they do not have any umbrellas. We found the only shaded spot on the balcony (it's covered by the door). We brought a picnic lunch to eat on the balcony. We enjoyed our tasting and bought several bottles of red wine. They surprisingly still have... More
