Right on Buggs Island Lake, Occoneechee State Park is beautiful, sparsely populated and excellently maintained. It is an outstanding resource for boaters, picnickers, hikers. Appropriate for: individuals or groups; those who appreciate the chance to enjoy the outdoors; and even those who want to unplug.

What a big beautiful park. It includes a large lake, an archery range, stables for horses, cabins and historical sites. It is well maintained. A really great place to spend some time

Stayed in the park cabins Apr 2014 for a Kerr lake fishing trip, very impressed with the cabins, the cleanliness of the cabins, and the overall park. The park has great boat launch ramps with plenty of parking. I highly recommend this place.
